  • A firm mattress will have a big impact on easing your back pain. Soft mattresses are a bad idea for backs in general. The firm ones are preferred, but ones that is much too firm may cause pain too.   • There are different kinds of activities that can really reduce the risk of injuring your back, as well as help ease pain associated with a back injury. For instance, yoga’s great flexibility can prevent some unnecessary muscle strains. If you need to lift heavy objects often, focus on strength training for your core muscles to fortify them.
  • Indulge in cardiovascular activities often. Cardiovascular activities are a great help towards a healthier body, and give great conditioning to the joints and muscles, helping to prevent back pain. While there are other great exercises out there, cardiovascular workouts put much less strain on your back muscles, therefore offering an optimal exercise for those that experience back pain.
  • There are many different types of doctors that can help with back pain. You can see a chiropractor, an orthopedic doctor, or just your regular practitioner. Make sure before making an appointment with a specialist that your insurance will cover your appointment, and always find out if there will be any extra cost that you might be unaware of.
  • Back pains try replacing your shoes. If your shoes are worn out, too big or too small, have no padding or arch support that could be your problem. Footwear affects your spinal placement causing you to have back pain. Replacing your old footwear could save you from having back pain.
  • Back pain got you down get up and move. Sitting still or lying down will cause your muscles to stiffen and tighten up. Although you shouldn’t twist or turn try doing some safe exercises at least 15 minutes a day; consult your doctor to see what exercisers are safe for you and your back.

In conjunction with resting, you can also take some anti-inflammatory medication in order to help relieve any pain and swelling. Acetaminophen and ibuprofen work very well for this.
